It’s the time of year for them. Babies Only has some new and very comfy baby blankets.
Pretty blue and pink cable stitch 100% cotton baby blankets by Pickles. They measure 30 inches by 40 inches. Making them great for just about every need. The colors are very true and soft. They would make a great gift
for any new baby. You can never have enough blankets. The cable stitch is a design that has been around forever. But these blankets give it a new look. Being cotton, makes them a good thing when you are dealing allergies. And it seems that now more than ever children have allergies. The biggest being foods and dyes that are used in many of our clothes. So many parents are delighted to receive gifts and items that are made of cotton.
For years parents and caregivers have had the problem of how to keep baby warm at night. We all now know that loose blankets in the crib are not a good thing. So what do we do? Well thankfully someone came up with a way to keep baby warm, confortable, and al safe. The answer is sleepsacks. And these were not around when my children were babies. I remember getting up at night to go into their room and check to see if they were still breathing. I never told anyone this, but I worried about SIDS. Something that we didn’t know much about then.
But not we have an answer to this problem. SLEEPSACKS. Babies Only has always carried sleepsacks, but now we have added the Halo
line to our store. The Halo sleepsack unzips from the bottom for easy diaper changes, has generous room for kicking, but can’t be kicked off as baby sleeps. They are sleeveless in design that allows for ventilation and reduces the risk of overheating. We even have an organic cotton one that is cute and still gives you the 100% organically-grown cotton without all the chemicals.
We as adults need or like to have a special friend that we can talk things over with and or just be there for you. Well, babies need a “special friend” also. They maybe not be able to talk, but a hug is all that is needed sometimes.
Our Lovie Character Blankets fill this need for the little baby. They are soft and easy to hold. They are cute. And they do not tell
baby’s secrets. They will become baby’s trusted ally for day and night. There is satin fabric on them that babies love to feel. Have you ever watched a baby while it is sleeping? If there is a blanket or Lovie or other plush toy, you will see baby rubbing the silky part of the blanket or toy. I don’t know why, but this seems to have a soothing effect on baby. As baby grows older, you will see baby talking to the Lovie. It’s like little girls talk to their dolls. The doll can’t talk back, but so what!!! It fills a need for baby. Every baby need a “special friend”. We can also put baby’s name on them if you so choose.
Straight from the manufacturer of Swaddle Designs, I am passing on this information that I think will help all parents. Especially new parents. Babies Only is always on the look for good and useful information that will help us all. As parents, we need all the help as we can get. Believe me, you do.
“Over the past few years there has been a lack of dialog related to the risk of overchilling. It is important for parents to understand that both overheating and overchilling are SIDS risk factors. In addition, when baby is too cool, baby will use valuable energy to stay warm instead of grow and thriving.
Babies are not good at regulating their temperature, and, it is the parent’s important responsibility to dress their baby based on the temperature of the sleeping environment and touch and feel their baby’s back or stomach to make
se baby is not too warm or too cold.”
As in hospitals, use a lightweight blanket to swaddle baby. Cotton sleepers are great for use when baby is sleeping. And also sleep sacks.
Just because it’s hot outside, baby still needs a blanket. The baby blanket should be light.
Remember how when you rest or don’t move for awhile, it always seem to get cooler? This is because you are not using much energy and this is the same for baby, especially a new baby. Most of us have air conditioning in our homes, thus providing our homes with a constant temperature. This makes it easy to decide how to dress baby. Don’t get carried away, just use a light weight blanket. Like a soft cotton or maybe a knit blanket. You know, like what we used to call a receiving blanket back in the old days. Today it is called a swaddling blanket. Baby will sleep better if he/she is not to hot or to cool.
